What is AnonWare?
AnonWare is a privacy-first platform for distributing software and files securely. Content is end-to-end encrypted, so the server only ever handles ciphertext — never your plaintext files or messages.
Is it really end-to-end encrypted?
Yes. Encryption and decryption happen on your own device using strong, modern cryptography (X25519 sealed boxes and Argon2id-derived keys). The server stores only encrypted data and cannot read it.
What’s the difference between the browser version and the installed app?
The in-browser app is great for a quick look, but it keeps your session in ordinary browser storage. The installed desktop and mobile builds store your session in your operating system’s encrypted keystore (Windows DPAPI / Android Keystore) for hardware-backed security. For anything sensitive, install the app.
Which platforms are supported?
Windows and Android have native installers, Linux ships as an archive, and the web app runs in any modern browser. One account works everywhere.
Do I need an account, and how do I verify my email?
Yes — register with an email address and password. We’ll send a verification email; click the link (or enter the code in the app) to activate your account. You can request a new email from the sign-in screen if it expires.
How do I install the Android .apk?
Download the .apk, open it, and allow installation from this source when Android prompts you. The app updates itself by letting you know when a newer build is available.
Does AnonWare track me?
No tracking and minimal metadata by design, with strong protections on your account. Privacy is the point — see our privacy page for details.
